CROATIAN FIRST DEPUTY PREMIER MEETS INDIA'S TOP OFFICIALS

ZAGREB, Nov 21 (Hina) - Croatia's First Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic, paying an official visit to India, on Tuesday met Indian Parliament's head G.M.C Balayogi and Indian Vice President Krishan Kant, in New Delhi. According to a statement released by the Croatian Government's public relations office, Granic and Balayogi discussed the development of bilateral ties, and assessed the Croatian-Indian political and parliamentary cooperation as good. They agreed that the economic ties should also be promoted. Indian Parliament speaker wanted to be acquainted with the current political circumstances in Croatia and with the recently-adopted constitutional changes. The two considered plans for the visit of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and Foreign Minister Tonino Picula to India, set for the first quarter of 2001.
