EISENSTADT, Nov 6 (Hina) - Croatian parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic on Monday arrived in Eisenstadt for a one-day visit to the Austrian federal province of Burgenland. Tomcic, who had been invited by the Croatian Cultural Society
from the province's capital of Eisenstadt, will meet regional officials and Burgenland Croats. Burgenland is the southern-most and youngest Austrian federal province which accounts for 3.5 percent of Austria's overall population. The legislative authority is held by the province's assembly which has 36 deputies and the highest body of executive authority is a government which has seven members and a president. The social life of Burgenland is marked by the peaceful coexistence of Germans, Croats and Hungarians and Roman Catholics and Protestants.
