Croatian parliament ends spring session, starts summer recess

ZAGREB, July 15 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament on Friday completed its spring meeting and after a summer recess it will reconvene in the second half of September.

Today, MPs passed laws on the legalisation of houses built without building permits until 21 June 2011 and on simplification of the issuance of development and building permits.

Also passed were laws on public procurement and on assessment of efficiency of regulations.

The agreement on an international anti-corruption academy was ratified.

The parliament amended the laws on the court register, pension funds, credit unions, primary school education and on some other areas.

The bill regulating compensation and restitution for property seized during the Yugoslav Communist rule and the draft of the new penal code were sent into second reading.

At the end of the sitting, Parliament Speaker Luka Bebic convened the next, 24th regular meeting for mid- towards the end of September.
