OPATIJA OPATIJA, Oct 18 (Hina) - The International federation of Journalists (IFJ), Open Society Institute (OSI) and Opatija's International Centre for the Education of Journalists (ICEJ) have organised a seminar at this Croatian
summer resort focusing on legal assistance in the media. The seminar began Wednesday. It gathered some thirty lawyers dealing with the protection of the professional rights of reporters, and local coordinators of the "Legal Assistance" project, from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovenia and Rumania. The central subject of the seminar will be international legal standards in media and the role of the public, the legal protection of journalists and freedom of expression, as well as standards and specific problems in practice.
