The committee on Friday considered the Croatian Democratic Union's
(HDZ) proposal that the lower house should cast a vote of confidence
in Premier Racan and ministers of interior affairs and war veterans
- Sime Lucin and Ivica Pancic respectively.
HDZ regarded that following the apprehension of war crimes
suspects, Racan prejudged their guilt, and this party was also
dissatisfied with some statements given by Ministers Pancic and
Lucin as well as with the conduct of their ministries.
The parliamentary committee's head, Ivan Ninic, said the committee
regarded that Racan had fulfilled his obligations and that he
conveyed a clear messages, in his statements, saying that it was
about the arrest of war crimes suspects.
The committee has several times discussed the work of the Interior
Ministry and concluded that all operations of apprehension were in
line with law, Ninic said after today's session of the committee.
It supported the Government's stand viewing Minister Pancic's work
as good, Ninic added.
