ZAGREB, Oct 6 (Hina) - The Government has assessed as positive the draft amendments to the Constitution, Justice Minister Stjepan Ivanisevic said Friday before the Croatian National Parliament's House of Representatives. The
Government submitted several suggestions, including that the name of the Croatian National Parliament be changed just to Croatian Parliament (Hrvatski Sabor). The Croatian Sabor is the traditional name of the parliament, as stipulated by the original text of the Constitution of 1990, Ivanisevic explained. The Government also motioned that the draft amendments include a provision which would, in the framework of the ombudsman's office, secure the protection of constitutional and legal rights of citizens in proceedings at the Defence Ministry, armed forces and security services, as well as the protection of the rights of citizens before bodies of local and regional self-government.(h
