ZAGREB, Oct 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Supreme Court dismissed an appeal by Dinko Sakic, former commander of the Jasenovac concentration camp during WW2, thus confirming his prison term to 20 years for war crimes against civilians. One
of Sakic's attorneys, Branko Seric, said Sunday he had received the Supreme Court's decision on Friday. The Zagreb County Court last October proclaimed Sakic guilty for the torture, abuse and murder of prisoners in the Jasenovac camp after a trial which lasted six months. The Supreme Court's decision is still not final, however, as Sakic, being a case of a long prison sentence, may forward another appeal within two weeks, which his attorney already announced.
