These conclusions are the result of a tour of Croatian ministries and a debate held at a government working meeting on Mt. Bjelolasica last week, Prime Minister Ivica Racan said. First Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic said the proposal on conducting preparations for government sessions a week ahead was the best conclusion. This change is contained in the conclusion referring to changes to the Rule Book, which envisage a set of measures for strengthening the role of the most senior government officials. The changes to the Rule Book will, among else, oblige the ministries to send their draft regulations to the Ministry of European Integration so that it could be checked whether they are in line with EU regulations. The conclusions are also aimed at improving the staff and the expert training of officials and clerks. Government services will work toward improving relations with the public and one of the priority tasks is the computerisation of the state administration. The Prime Minister and the Sabor speaker will discuss ways to resolve the detected problems burdening the relations between the Government and the Sabor, taking into account the upcoming changes to the Constitution, the conclusions read.
