PRIME MINISTER RACAN VISITS TOURISM MINISTRY

ZAGREB, Sept 18 (Hina) - This year's tourist season demonstrated potentials of the Croatian tourism, which will amount to US$3.5 billion this year, Prime Minister Ivica Racan said after Monday's visit to the Croatian Tourism Ministry and talks with Minister Pave Zupan-Ruskovic. Prime Minister Racan also announced that the government would soon discusses steps for the promotion of tourism, and described tourism as a very significant branch for Croatia's overall development. The Croatian government will have to deal with strategic issues, such as how to adequately place tourism in the Croatian state budget and how to encourage the tourism development, Racan told reporters. He stressed that the government supported the efforts Minister Zupan-Ruskovic and the entire Tourism Ministry invested in the development of tourism.
