This is Bregovic's first concert in Zagreb since 1989, when he and
his rock band "Bijelo dugme" (White Button), once the most popular
rock group in the former Yugoslavia, were on their last tour.
The 50-year-old musician and his "Weddings and Funerals Band" -
which has 48 members, including female singers from Bulgaria,
string-players from Poland, trumpeters, and a male choir from
Belgrade - last night performed the programme from their European
tour - Bregovic's film music and Balkan ethnic music.
Last night's concert was the last one in the band's European tour.
Bregovic earned international fame and success by writing music to
Emir Kusturica's films Arizona Dream and Underground.
