Thursday forwarded a message to Croatian policemen and all other
current and retired employees with the Interior Ministry on the
occasion of Police Day, 29 September, when they celebrate their
patron saint St. Michael.
"The holy day when we mark the victory of the Good, order and law,
reminds us that we are always in service of the protection of the
week and those who need help. The equality of everybody before the
law, the respect of the Constitution and legal regulations, are the
only criteria with which we can confirm our reputation and fulfil
our tasks with which the democratic public entrust us," read
Lucin's statement.
This year we celebrate Police Day also with the completion of
important jobs, the elaboration of a draft act on police, and the
new organisation of the Ministry. All of this will help us to fully
de-politicise the profession of police officers. At this solemn
moment I expect from you to accept proposed measures with full
professionalism and responsibility, Lucin wrote.
