COUNCIL OF EUROPE DEVELOPMENT BANK GRANTS CROATIA EUR 30.4 MILLION

PARIS/ZAGREB, Sept 22 (Hina) - The Council of Europe's Development Bank (CEB) on Friday granted Croatia an EUR30.4 million-worth loan for the return of refugees from Yugoslavia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. According to a statement the bank sent to Hina today, the loan should facilitate the return of refugees and displaced people through the construction of houses and infrastructure and the provision of alternative accommodation for persons occupying somebody else's property. The ultimate goal is the return of pre-war residents into Croatia's once war-stricken areas and the re-establishment of multiethnic communities. The beneficiaries of this project are Croatian citizens of Serb or Croat nationality who are returning from Yugoslavia or Bosnia-Herzegovina, the statement read.(hina) rml
