A representative of petrol station owners, Sime Vrbat, said after the meeting Linic had promised them he would see that the problem was included in the agenda of this week's session of a government's coordinating body, i.e., that the formula for determining oil prices also include a trade margin of 50-60 lipa for the selling price of one litre of oil products from private petrol stations. Slavko Linic on Monday, owners of private petrol stations ended a
protest rally which started in front of the government building in
Zagreb this morning.
About 200 private oil merchants gathered for the rally to warn that
the state oil company INA had jeopardised their survival by
cancelling quantity rebate for oil products which made their prices
non-competitive.
A representative of petrol station owners, Sime Vrbat, said after
the meeting Linic had promised them he would see that the problem
was included in the agenda of this week's session of a government's
coordinating body, i.e., that the formula for determining oil
prices also include a trade margin of 50-60 lipa for the selling
price of one litre of oil products from private petrol stations.
On July 7 INA cancelled quantity rebate of 10-15 lipa per litre for
owners of private petrol stations. Private petrol stations have
been incurring losses for some time due to this decision. There are
more than 200 private petrol stations in Croatia, with more than
4,000 employees.
