ZAGREB, Sept 5 (Hina) - Croatia's Foreign Minister Tonino Picula on Tuesday held talks with the chairman of the Bechtel Group, Charles Redman, on a project of the Adriatic-Ionian motorway. Redman informed Minister Picula of the
company's stance on this important project, read a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry. Picula and Redman agreed that the importance of the Adriatic-Ionian motorway surpassed the economic value of the project, and the construction of this highway would contribute to the improvement of links between south-eastern European countries and their speedier accession to Europe. The two interlocutors voiced hope that the forthcoming meeting, set for 29 September in Ioannia, Greece, would give impetus to the implementation of the feasibility study pertaining to this motorway.
