NEW YORK, Sept 8 (Hina) - Presidents of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia, Alija Izetbegovic, Stipe Mesic, Milan Kucan and Boris Trajkovski held talks in Croatia's permanent mission to the United Nations in New York Friday afternoon. The four presidents discussed attempts of their countries to join Euro-Atlantic integration, joint cooperation, the succession of the former Yugoslavia and political circumstances in the Southeast of Europe. After the talks a joint statement was issued. During the talks, the four presidents expressed a joint standpoint regarding the succession of the former Yugoslavia. The completion of the succession of the former Yugoslavia based on the principle of equality of all former member countries is the foundation for permanent peace and the stability region, the statement read. The four countries will continue to coordinate activities for the insurance of equal treatment for all countries of the former Yugoslavia in international organisations. It was also stressed that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) must undergo a standard procedure of joining international organisations. The four presidents agreed to seek support of the European Union and the United States, as well as other United Nations member- countries. President of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic joined the four presidents and informed them of the development of the situation in Montenegro.
