Even today the Yugoslav flag is hoisted in fort of the United Nations building. The Croatian President and the officials also tackled the peace process in Near East. When asked about his standpoint on the issue, Mesic told the Palestinian leader it was better to hold negotiations for three years than to be in war for three days. The officials tackled the overall situation in the Southeast of Europe, particularly in Bosnia-Herzegovina, namely the return of refugees and detained persons. Later today, the Croatian President is to participate in the first working table of the summit (to discuss the role of the United Nations in the 21st century), and to hold talks with presidents of Hungary and Iran and Japanese Prime Minister.
