ZAGREB, Sept 6 (Hina) - Foreign donations earmarked for culture will be exempt from the Value Added Tax (VAT), Croatian Culture Minister Antun Vujic said in Zagreb Wednesday. The Croatian Finance Ministry and Culture Ministry agreed
on the interpretation of the Value Added Tax law and the law on the rights of independent artists, so donors would be exempt from paying taxes, and sponsorships would be included in expenses, Vujic told a press conference. Services of independent artist and art organisations will also be exempt from the Value Added Tax. Vujic confirmed that the Ministry was bound to shut down the Croatian Cultural-Information Institution (HIKZ).
