MOSTAR UNIVERSITY DEAN ACCEPTED MOSTAR, Sept 4 (Hina) - The Senate of Mostar University on Monday accepted a resignation of dean of the University Marko Tadic, who tendered his resignation at a session of the University Governing Council, the Senate said in a statement after its Monday's session. After eight of 12 members of the Senate demanded that Tadic be replaced because in their opinion, his work was against interests of Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the resignation was also tendered by the University Governing Council. The statement read that the decision on relieving Tadic from his duty, was passed in line with regulations of the Statute of the University. The statement also read that the Governing Council would immediately appoint acting dean and start a procedure for the elections for a new dean in line with appropriate regulations of the Statute of the University. Before the acceptance of Tadic's resignations was officially made public, United States Ambassador in Bosnia-Hercegovina Thomas Miller said he was convinced that Tadic's replacement was conducted with the help of non-democratic means. If this decision remains in force, Mostar University students will suffer the greatest loss, the United States diplomat said in the southern Bosnia-Herzegovina town of Mostar after talks with Mostar mayor Safet Orucevic and deputy mayor Neven Tomic.
