DUBROVNIK DUBROVNIK, Aug 29 (Hina) - An exhibition "Synagogue Architecture in Croatia During the Age of Historicism in Croatia" was opened in the southern town of Dubrovnik on Tuesday evening by a Israeli diplomat, Moradeki Arbel. The
author of this show, which is a part of a great project of the Zagreb-based Museum of Arts and Crafts called "Historicism in Croatia", is a professor, Zlatko Karac. Of some 50 masterpieces of the synagogue architecture in Croatia, just several have remained. Most of the remaining synagogues have been changed. A majority of synagogues were destroyed in the second World War and in its wake. The exhibition was staged within the third international conference on the social and cultural history of Jews on the eastern Adriatic coast in the 17th century, which has gathered many experts who have been discussing Jews' social and economic and intellectual contribution as well as the

After the opening ceremony, a concert of Sephardic music was given
by a singer, Monserrat Franko.
