DUBROVNIK AREA, MESIC TOURS FIRE SITE DUBROVNIK, Aug 26 (Hina) - On Saturday evening, fire-fighters were making huge efforts to defend two villages in the municipality of Dubrovacko Primorje from the blaze that threatened to engulf
them. The villages - Dubravice and Gornji Majkovi - were encircled with the fire which has been raging for five days in this part of the Dubrovnik area. One fire-fighter was injured during the operation, a local fire-fighting commander reported. This evening Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, who is on working holiday in Dubrovnik, toured the fire site in the Dubrovacko Primorje. Earlier in the day, a blaze which was burning in the suburbs of Vrbice and Lozice threatened to spread in the town of Dubrovnik. The firefighters prevented it.
