STATE ALERT CENTRE REPORTS NEW FIRES IN SIBENIK COUNTY

ZAGREB/SIBENIK/SPLIT, Aug 20 (Hina) - The State Alert Centre on Sunday reported new fires near Cetina and Mokro Polje in Sibenik- Knin County. Fires which broke out near Trilj and Vinjani Donji in Split-Dalmatia County have been put out. The fire which broke out yesterday afternoon near Cetina in the Sibenik hinterland has not been contained yet. The fire broke out in the area which is difficult to access and the blaze is consuming oak forest. Firefighters have still not contained the fire which broke out in Mokro Polje last night. The blaze is spreading over an area covered with spruce and underbrush. The fire which broke out on Friday in the area of Promina was contained last night. The blaze has consumed about 300 hectares of underbrush and pine wood. Two fires which broke out near Oklaj and Citluk yesterday merged later in the day, consuming about 600 hectares of underbrush. The blaze was contained last night. Another fire, which broke out near Badanj, has consumed about 10 hectares of underbrush, leaf wood and a farm building. Two fires which broke out in Trilj and Vinjani Gornji in Split County yesterday morning were put out in the evening. The fires have consumed about 200 hectares of underbrush and oak wood. (hina) rml
