MAKARSKA DOWN MAKARSKA, Aug 22 (Hina) - According to the latest report, a fire which broke out near Makarska at about 10.30 pm Monday was extinguished in a less than an hour. Local fire-fighters acted promptly and managed to bring the
blaze under control about 11.00 pm. Shortly after that they put it down, and are still patrolling the area. The fire burnt a pine forest and the underbrush at an area large about 1,000 square metres on a hill overlooking this southern coastal town. Owing to the fire, a local transmission line had to be switched off and a part of Makarska was without power supplies. Causes of the fire are still unknown.(hina) ms
