STATE ALERT CENTRE REPORTS ON THURSDAY FIRES

ZAGREB, Aug 11 (Hina) - A number of fires broke out on Thursday in Split, Zadar, Sibenik, Istria and Dubrovnik counties, the State Alert Centre reported on Friday. The fires which broke out in the areas of Vinjani Gornji-Djereci, Radosic-Kevina Jama, Sicani-Dicmo, Dicmo-Mojanka (in the Sinj area) and Babic Brig (in a mine-infested part of the Hrvace municipality) in Split County have consumed about 70 hectares of underbrush and oak wood. All fires were put out. About 245 hectares of underbrush and oak and pine wood were consumed in fires which broke out in Rastani Gornji, the area between Skabrnja and Prkos, and near Smokovic in the Zadar area. All fires were put out. Several smaller fires broke out in Zadar County on locations in Pridraga, Ninski Stanovi, Sukosan, Smrdelj and Jagodnja Donja. The fire which broke out yesterday in the municipality of Marcana in Istria County was put out last night. The blaze has consumed about 30 hectares of leaf forest and underbrush. Several fires also broke out in Sibenik County. The fire which broke out on Wednesday in the area Cvrljci-Malesi was extinguished early on Friday morning. The blaze has consumed about 150 hectares of underbrush and oak wood. The fires which broke out in the areas of Danilo Biranje and Seneta were put out last night and this morning, after consuming about 40 hectares of underbrush and spruce. The fire which broke out on Wednesday at Prepratno near Stone in Dubrovnik County was extinguished last night. The blaze has consumed 148 hectares of coniferous and leaf wood. Another fire, which broke out at Mihanici yesterday morning, was put out shortly after firefighters were informed about it. The blaze has consumed about 10 hectares of underbrush and pine wood.
