ZAGREB, July 19 (Hina) - Two leaders of an association of disabled Homeland War veterans (HVIDR-a) on Wednesday criticised a draft act on war veterans' rights. Marinko Liovic and Ivica Perkovic claimed that the new act would abolish
most rights of former soldiers and disabled veterans. The draft act revokes or reduces many rights which war veterans and disabled veterans have enjoyed so far such as tariff benefits for import of cars, the right to have free treatment in spas, and other financial perks, Liovic complained at a news conference. Perkovic added that the incumbent minister in charge of Homeland War veterans, Ivica Pancic, has so far done nothing useful for them. Besides, Pancic insulted them by claiming that HVIDR-a is "a Mafia organisation" and this association would react upon this, he said.(hina) mm ms
