ZAGREB, July 7 (Hina) - A society gathering former inmates of Serb
concentration camps voiced their support for Veterans' Minister
Ivica Pancic on Friday.
Some war veterans' associations have sought Pancic's replacement
because they believe the first revisions of veterans' disability
status were planned and carried out hastily.
In a statement issued today, the Society of Former Prisoners of Serb
Concentration Camps requests that it be established who stands
behind the conflict between Homeland War victims and the Veterans'
Minister.
Condemning Pancic's critics, the former inmates said they believed
Pancic could become 'a scapegoat'.
The Society called on those conducting the campaign for Pancic's
replacement to come forward and present their programmes
and activities which are financed with budgetary funds.
They also demand to know why no one is criticising the Government,
with the Premier at its head, who appointed the Commission for the
Establishment of Disability Status, which, according to the media,
was not up to the task it has been entrusted with.
The Society also advised the Government to start dealing with 'fake
business people' rather than 'fake disabled veterans'.
