ZAGREB, July 19 (Hina) - The number of Croatia's unemployed has been decreasing for the third consecutive month, with 342,098 registered at the Croatian Employment Office in June, 2.5 percent less than in May, a fact which should be
ascribed to seasonal employment. The mild trend of decrease in the number of the unemployed was first recorded in April this year, when there were 0.4 percent less unemployed than in March, the Croatian Employment Office said on Wednesday. In May, the number of the unemployed dropped by another 1.5 percent. Compared to June 1999, the number of the unemployed at the end of June this year was 9.4 percent higher. Of the total number of the unemployed in June, 27.4 percent were looking for their first job ever, which is 6.3 percent more than at the same time last year.(hina) ha
