ZAGREB, July 6 (Hina) - Croatia's tourist camps recorded 1.96 million overnight stays in this year's first six months, which is 43 percent more than at the same time last year and 26 percent of the total number of 1999's overnight
stays in camps, 7.57 million. According to Camping Association of Croatia secretary Jerko Sladoljev, camps in the Istria region, northern Adriatic, recorded 1.03 million overnight stays, those in Kvarner, another northern coastal region, 622,000, and camps in Dalmatia in southern Croatia recorded 307,000 overnight stays. If the trend continues in the coming months, Sladoljev said on Thursday, by year's end Croatian camps should record about 10.5 million overnight stays, which would be 40 percent more than last year and 20 percent more than in 1998.
