ZAGREB, July 15 (Hina) - The Croatian National Sabor's House of Representatives on Saturday morning endorsed a report on the work of an investigation commission for the establishment of circumstances during the sale of Croatia's daily
"Vecernji List", and appointed three members of the state commission for monitoring the implementation of measures for gathering secret data. After several months of talks between parties, the Lower House on Saturday, at the motion of the committee for interior policy and national security, appointed three members of the state commission for monitoring the implementation of measures for gathering confidential data, namely Antun Blazincic, Ante Jelavic-Mitrovic and Josip Kregar. They are to supervise whehter the police were conducting the tapping of citizens in line with the law. The Lower House appointed Boris Vujcic to the duty of the deputy Governor of the Croatian Nation
ZAGREB, July 15 (Hina) - The Croatian National Sabor's House of
Representatives on Saturday morning endorsed a report on the work
of an investigation commission for the establishment of
circumstances during the sale of Croatia's daily "Vecernji List",
and appointed three members of the state commission for monitoring
the implementation of measures for gathering secret data.
After several months of talks between parties, the Lower House on
Saturday, at the motion of the committee for interior policy and
national security, appointed three members of the state commission
for monitoring the implementation of measures for gathering
confidential data, namely Antun Blazincic, Ante Jelavic-Mitrovic
and Josip Kregar. They are to supervise whehter the police were
conducting the tapping of citizens in line with the law.
The Lower House appointed Boris Vujcic to the duty of the deputy
Governor of the Croatian National Bank (HNB), while Cedo Maletic,
Tomislav Presecna and Relja Martic were appointed vice governors.
Also appointed was the new HNB Council. Apart from the Governor, his
deputy and three vice-governors, also members of the Council will
be Branko Vukmir, Silvije Orsag, Sandra Svaljek, Alen Belula,
Branimir Lokin, Damir Novotny, Bozidar Jelcic and Mato Babicbe.
The House of representatives appointed new members of Radio and
Television Council.
The House of Representatives on Saturday endorsed a report on the
work of an investigation commission for the establishment of
circumstances during the sale of Croatia's daily "Vecernji List".
According to the report, the Commission concluded there were 11
irregularities during the sale of the daily. The report also read
there were serious indications which point to the connection
between the sale of the daily and state officials.
The Lower House also endorsed a conclusion that the report be
forwarded to the Interior Ministry, the State Audit Office, and the
State Prosecutor's Office.
The extraordinary session of the House of Representatives was
continued by a discussion on a bill of amendments to the
Constitution.
