SIBENIK COUNTY STILL FLARE SIBENIK, July 5 (Hina) - Three big forest fires in southern Croatian County Sibenik-Knin have not been extinguished yet. A fire which broke in the mine-infested area in Velika Glava (the Sibenik hinterland)
on Monday and which could not be put down owing to land mines, spread towards the village of Dubravice on Wednesday. Three fire-fighting planes are engaged in efforts to extinguish it. Another forest fire which broke out at Promina near Drnis, has burnt the area of 250 hectares to date. The strongest fire-fighting forces in the county are trying to put it out. At noon today yet another fire broke out between Brnjice and Pakovo Selo and spread toward the canyon of the Cikola River and the Drnis-Knin road. The road was closed on Wednesday evening for traffic, due to such a situation. Local firefighters have appealed on their colleagues from other counties to help them.(hina) jn ms
