Racan arrived in Copenhagen today for a two-day official visit to
Denmark. In the afternoon, he spoke and answered questions at
Denmark's foreign affairs society.
One of the questions was whether Bosnian Croats would continue
casting ballots in Croatian elections.
"We will stop with that policy," Croatia's prime minister said,
adding that Bosnian Croats were not the Diaspora, but an native
people.
Racan said the majority of Croatia's ruling coalition had been
advocating this solution in the past, and that there was no reason
not to implement it. He did stress however that he could not speak on
behalf of the six parties, but only his own.
The prime minister also said that most Croats living outside of
Croatia do not want to vote in Croatian elections because they
neither live nor pay taxes in Croatia.
