Asked whether they discussed Mesic's statement of yesterday
regarding the work of the six-party coalition, Racan said they had
more important topics to discus.
During his visit to the eastern town Djakovo on Sunday, Mesic
forwarded a message to the coalition, saying decisions had to be
passed within legally elected bodies of authority. The six parties
cannot pass any decisions and are not entitled to meet, this must be
done by the mechanisms this people has elected, Mesic said on that
occasion.
"It would be best if President Mesic himself could explain his
statements, as he has already done for some reporters. I don't want
to comment on that. As long as the coalition exists it must have a
way to meet and consider the implementation of the joint policy.
There is no dispute or problem there. I did not feel the need to
discuss that topic with President Mesic," Racan said.
