CRO. MINISTER SIGNS DEFENCE COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH GREECE

ZAGREB, June 28 (Hina) - Croatia's Defence Minister Jozo Rados signed a cooperation agreement with the Greek Defence Ministry in Athens, the Croatian Defence Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. Rados arrived in Greece yesterday for a two-day official visit. During talks with Greek counterpart Apostolos Athanasios Tsohatzopoulos, Rados discussed issues in connection with bilateral cooperation, the situation in the region, and various regional initiatives and processes whose objective is to ensure stability in the region. Croatia and Greece are resolute to cooperate in said processes, the statement said. Following today's talks, Rados and Tsohatzopoulos signed an agreement on cooperation between the two countries' defence ministries. The Greek minister said the agreement represented but the first step in the establishment and strengthening of defence cooperation between Croatia and Greece.

Croatia's defence minister was today also received by Moscho Gikinoglou, the Greek parliament's vice president for foreign affairs and defence. Gikinoglou said Greece wanted to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation with Croatia. He added Greece was offering Croatia lasting support in its integration with Euro-Atlantic structures.
