LJUBLJANA, June 13 (Hina) - Croatian and Slovene Transport and
Communications Ministers Alojz Tusek and Anton Bergauer
respectively described their Tuesday talks on traffic connections
and cooperation as positive.
Addressing reporters in Ljubljana, the two ministers said the most
important result of today's talks was Slovenia's consent for
Croatia to connect via Slovene territory to the European corridor
5, which runs from Italy toward Hungary, and corridor 10, which runs
from Austria toward Greece.
According to the Slovene minister, the Slovene government will with
the help of a proposal on budgetary revision, to be forwarded to
parliament in autumn, enable the construction of two highways
linking Croatia's region of Istria and coastal area with Italy via
Slovenia, and its north-western regions with Austria and Germany.
According to some information, Slovenia has linked its consent for
Croatia's connection to corridors 5 and 10 via Slovene territory
with a favourable solution for its aspirations towards gaining
access to the open sea in Piran Bay.
