The lower house today unanimously adopted changes to the Law on Mine Removal, which equalises some rights of mine removal experts and their families with those of Croatian soldiers. Since the changes refer to only about 40 persons, it is believed they will not burden the budget significantly. The parliament adopted a report on the implementation of the 1999 mine removal programme and funds spent for that purpose. The Government has been entrusted with securing additional funds and financial sources so that the process of mine removal could be accelerated. Today's session continued with a debate on two bills on the reconstruction and development of Vukovar, proposed by the government and a group of deputies from the fifth constituency. (hina) rml
