ZAGREB, June 27 (Hina) - The Croatian National Sabor's House of Counties on Tuesday failed to endorse two laws by which the Government proposed that the pension reform be postponed for a year and a half. On behalf of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ), Simun Kujavec said that the delay of the reform could cause the drop of Croatia's credit rating and the country could lose 800 million kuna (DM200 million) of the capital and 100 million kuna (DM25 million) of foreign investments. The Government proposed that the earmarking of funds for the second phase of the pension reform be delayed until January 1, 2002. In line with the current law the process should begin on July 1, 2000.(hina) it jn
