RIJEKA HARBOUR RIJEKA, June 21 (Hina) - Hungary's Transportation and Water Economy Minister Laszlo Nogradi visited the northern Adriatic port of Rijeka on Wednesday to see whether it was possible to begin to invest Hungarian capital
in the Rijeka harbour as soon as possible. Nogradi said Hungary had requested a 25-year concession at the Rijeka harbour to give Hungarian investors appropriate legal security and the possibility to make long-term plans. Hungary's Ganz Port company intends to invest in the renovation of the harbour and boosting its business. Plans include transporting 2.9 million tonnes of Hungarian cargo via Rijeka by 2015. The company would thus renovate the harbour's 32 cranes and install between four and six new ones, build a new terminal for soy and a new 100,000ton-capacity grain silo in nearby Bakar.(hina) ha jn
