European education. The Croatian Education and Sports Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday the two-day conference gathers 145 participants from 35 European countries. The conference pointed out it was necessary to encourage higher and more balanced earmarking for education, and that this should be an important concern of every government. Minister Strugar held talks with the host, Romanian Education Minister Andrei Margo. Both voiced satisfaction with the position of the Croat minority in Romania. The talks also addressed the drafting of an agreement on cooperation in science and education, and changes in both countries' school systems.(hina) ha
