ZAGREB ZAGREB, June 4 (Hina) - Zagreb University Rector Branko Jeren views Croatian Science and Technology Minister Hrvoje Kraljevic's initiative to establish a second university in the Croatian capital as a blow to the physical and immaterial integrity of the existing university in Zagreb. Jeren said on Saturday that this followed after a blow to the dignity and autonomy of Zagreb University. "If Minister and his assistant in college education really want to found a new university, we wish them much success, but also advise them not to do it in accordance to 'the tycoon model': by breaking the existing university into small pieces and snapping them up," Jeren said in a statement. Croatia's Science and Technology Ministry launched an initiative at the Council of Europe's recommendation for the establishment of a second university in Zagreb, ministry representatives told reporters in Zagreb on Friday.
