ZAGREB, June 15 (Hina) - The House of Representatives on Thursday rejected a report by the management of Croatian Radio Television (HRT) on HRT's operation in 1999. Under the old management, HRT operated unsuccessfully according to
all criteria, most MPs concluded in a heated debate. According to the report, HRT last year earned 4.5 million kuna of profit. However, this is not correct, claims State Auditor Sima Krasic, adding the HRT management increased its income and decreased its spending in the report. According the State Audit, the HRT last year incurred losses amounting to 120 million kuna. The audit also discovered some 20 cases of illegal activity - from contracts on part time services signed with full-time employees, granting discounts to advertisers contrary to the advertising rates, to giving loans to employees and companies while at the same time the HRT itself was using loans due to illiquidity.
