ZAGREBACKA BANK BROKERS COMMENT ON LAST MONTH'S TRENDS

ZAGREB, June 13 (Hina) - Zagrebacka Bank brokers have assessed that May was marked by great changeabilities of prices, caused by instability at world capital markets as well as by record-high turnovers. Giving a monthly commentary on capital markets, the brokers said the Zagreb stock market registered the total turnover of 374.7 million kuna, or 70 percent of the last year's total turnover with shares at the Zagreb stock market. Besides, Zagrebacka Bank brokers acquired a market share of 49.7 percent last month. What caused such volume of business is a public invitation to Varazdinska Bank share-holders for the sale of share at the price of 305 kuna. Lately the Zagrebacka Bank has become a majority owner of the Varazdinska Bank. The banking sector was most active last month. Regular shares of the Zagrebacka Bank realised 48.16 million kuna. An impressive increase was registered in the price of preferred shares in the A series that rose by 69.39 percent to 830 kuna. Shares of Dalmatinska Bank rose by 31.43 percent to 230 kuna, and they were sold for 10.3 million kuna in May. The highest rise was registered with shares of the confectionery plant "Kras". Their price climbed by 78.9 percent to 250 kuna. Shares of the pharmaceutical firm "Pliva" had a decline last month. Their price fell by 8.57 percent to 480 kuna. (hina) jn ms
