ZAGREB STOCK EXCHANGE REACHES 374.7 MIL KUNA ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - Last month's turnover at the Zagreb Stock Exchange amounted to 374.7 million kuna (US$45.2 million), which was a staggering 399.98 percent more than in April. The
turnover is the result of intensive trading with Varazdinska Banka shares during its take-over by Zagrebacka Banka. The value of the Crobex index rose by 5.07 percent in May, to 876.8 points. Trading with Varazdinska Banka shares accounted for 254.1 million kuna in turnover. The bank's shares were sold at 305 kuna, a price 12.96 percent higher. Zagrebacka Banka's regular shares gained 13.24 percent in value, reaching 1,360 kuna and accounting for 48.2 million kuna in turnover. Trading with Podravka shares exceeded 17.6 million kuna. This food-processing company's shares rose by 3.23 percent in value, reaching 143.50 kuna. The sale of Supertrus Hotel shares at 90 kuna accounted for 17.2 million

The sale of Supertrus Hotel shares at 90 kuna accounted for 17.2
million in turnover. The value of pharmaceutical industry Pliva's
shares dropped by 8.57 percent, to 480 kuna, accounting for 14.5
million in turnover.
Sixteen of 28 shares traded in May gained in value, with those of the
Sonic savings bank rising by 124.44 percent, to 900 kuna.
Shares of Rabac Hotel lost the most in value, dropping by 52.36
percent, to 31.12 kuna.
