SPLIT SPLIT, June 11 (Hina) - The United States Navy ship, USS Thunderbolt, arrived in Split on Sunday for an official four-day visit to this southern Croatian port during which it will perform a search and rescue at sea exercise with
the Croatian Navy and the Croatian Air Force. The USS Thunderbolt is a coast guard patrol ship with a 40-member crew, and the first of its kind to visit Croatia. This four-year-old highly specialised war vessel is one of the newest types in the U.S. fleet. The joint exercise will take place on June 13, between 8AM and noon. Thunderbolt commander Ian Pollitt and U.S. maritime military envoy to Croatia Peter Smith were today received by representatives of local authorities and Lt.
