RIJEKA, June 10 (Hina) - About 500 German tourists who participated in last week's cycle races on northern Croatian islands, left for Bavaria on Saturday. They departed aboard a train from the seaport of Rijeka. During the cycle
races, organised by the Bavarian radio and television, they run bicycles on the islands of Krk, Cres, Losinj, Rab and Pag, passing over 250 kilometres. Their final route on Friday was from Moscenicka Draga to the seaside resort of Opatija. Cultural events and programmes for entertainment were prepared for the German guests at each destination of the races' sections. On Friday evening, a party and ball were given for them in the "Kvarner" hotel in Opatija. Organisers of the races - Bavarian radio and television - said this was one of the most beautiful tourist events they had experienced so far.(hina) ms
