ZAGREB, May 11 (Hina) - The Council of the Croatian Radio Television (HRT) at its Thursday's session failed to pass a decision on the increase of radio and television fees and postponed a discussion on that until the passing of a new
law on the HRT. A discussion on a report on HRT business activities in the first three months of this year was postponed due to same reasons. HRT acting editor-in-chief Neda Ritz presented a motion of the Croatian Television's (HT) programme orientation for the period between April and July. She stressed that the programme scheme would continue to be reduced, namely projects and broadcasts of poor quality would be taken off the air. At the moment, sports and entertainment dominate the programme and the Croatian Television became "the hostage of shows and festivals", Ritz added. President of the HRT Council Ivo Skrabalo told members Council that
representatives of the Croatian National Sabor expressed
dissatisfaction with the HRT decision that it would not broadcast a
discussion on the passing of a constitutional law on human rights
and rights of national minorities.
HRT general director Mirko Galic said the HRT aired Sabor's session
which were of extreme importance.
