PRESIDENT MESIC RECEIVES BH PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION

ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - A Bosnia-Herzegovina parliamentary official said in Zagreb on Friday his talks with Croatian President Stipe Mesic addressed Croatian-BH relations, the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement, and refugee returns. "I believe we have concluded that the Dayton peace agreement has no alternative, namely that we should first implement it, and then agree on some other modalities," Branko Dokic, chairman of BH's parliamentary Commission for International and Foreign Affairs, told reporters following talks with President Mesic. Dokic said the talks also addressed two-way refugee returns and property-rights relations. "The right to return of every individual must be respected, regardless of whether it is the return of Serbs from RS (Republika Srpska, BH's Serb entity) to Croatia, or Croats to RS. However, we must also take into consideration those who don't want to or can't return to their homes, we must take care of them and enable them to sell or exchange property or (provide) some other form of compensation," Dokic said. He added the talks with Mesic also tackled several agreements which could significantly facilitate communication and cooperation between Croatia and BH, in connection with free trade, border crossing only with identity cards, and local border regime.
