ZAGREB, May 25 (Hina) - The mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) technical assistance on Thursday held initiating talks with the leadership of the Croatian National Bank (HNB) in Zagreb. The talks, conducted by the two
parties, headed by IMF official Warren Coats and HNB Governor Marko Skreb, revolved around the programme of the mission's activities during its stay in Croatia until June 7. It is planned that emphasis be given on the necessity to change legal regulations about the central and other banks, on the institutional relations between the HNB and the Finance Ministry and interrelations of a monetary policy, the financial market, the management of the public debt and state payments. In addition, the management of foreign currencies reserves, changes in the payment system and all instruments of the monetary policy will be considered as well.(hina) mm ms
