PULA, May 24 (Hina) - Istria County State Attorney Vlatko Nuic on Wednesday filed charges at the Pula County Court in the Herak case. The 36-page indictment includes grieve criminal acts of the misuse of authority for personal gain
against former tourism minister Ivan Herak, his assistant Antun Golik , director of the "Mini pam" company, Djani Bazon, director of the "Zlatni Rat" tourist company, Antun Plenkovic, Supervisory Board chairman of the "Croatia golf" company, Mate Majic, and director of a private company from Zagreb which mediated in the illegal purchase of Herak's Grand Cherokee vehicle, Igor Mlinar. Nuic also filed a request for a new investigation considering the fact that Herak and associates had been accused of another, new criminal act. The 36-page indictment includes grieve criminal acts of the misuse
of authority for personal gain against former tourism minister Ivan
Herak, his assistant Antun Golik , director of the "Mini pam"
company, Djani Bazon, director of the "Zlatni Rat" tourist company,
Antun Plenkovic, Supervisory Board chairman of the "Croatia golf"
company, Mate Majic, and director of a private company from Zagreb
which mediated in the illegal purchase of Herak's Grand Cherokee
vehicle, Igor Mlinar.
Nuic also filed a request for a new investigation considering the
fact that Herak and associates had been accused of another, new
criminal act.
Nuic filed a motion for an extension of detainment time for Herak
and Bazon who have been detained since January 27, and Mato Majic
who has been imprisoned since March 13.
The investigation in the Herak case, during which some 50 witnesses
had been questioned, ended two weeks ago.
After the submission of the indictment, the County Court would
within 48 hours decide on the extension or cessation of
detainment.
The defendants may file appeals on the indictment within eight
days.
