ZAGREB, May 10 (Hina) - Croatia's Constitutional Court at Wednesday's session by a majority of vote rescinded a Penal Law provision in connection with criminal acts against the honour and reputation of the President of the Republic,
the premier, or the presidents of parliament, the Constitutional and Supreme Courts. According to said provision, criminal proceedings in such cases were initiated by a court-appointed state attorney. The Constitutional Court also rescinded a provision according to which the said state officials could withdraw consent for criminal prosecution until a court ruling became final. Motions aimed at establishing the constitutionality of the two provisions were made by attorney Vesna Alaburic and journalist Jagoda Vukusic.
