GOVT SPOKESWOMAN: PREMIER WILL NOT DEMAND CACIC'S RESIGNATION

ZAGREB, May 19 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan will not demand the resignation of Reconstruction Minister Radimir Cacic, because there is no reasons for it, Croatian Government Spokeswoman Aleksandra Kolaric said Friday. Representatives of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) demanded Cacic's resignation, claiming the Minister for Public Works, Reconstruction and Building offended representatives of the Croatian Democratic Union and Croatian Homeland War soldiers by his statement in the Croatian National Sabor. During yesterday's discussion on amendments to the bill on reconstruction, Cacic refused a HDZ motion that a regulation in line with which material damage occurred in the Homeland War be replaced with a regulation that damage occurred during Greater Serbian aggression in Croatia. Minister Cacic said that not only Greater Serbian aggressor had been demolishing, burning and robbing

He added that during his arrival to Knin, on the first days after it was liberated, he did not see houses burning, however, he saw them burning while he was leaving. (hina) it jn
