ZAGREB, May 13 (Hina) - The Croatian government will present the
first 100 days of its work at a multimedia event in Zagreb on May 15,
the government's Media and Public Relations Office said in a
statement on Saturday.
"The 100 of Premier Ivica Racan's Government" will feature a video
presentation by government spokeswoman Aleksandra Kolaric.
Premier Racan will make an address himself.
A special booklet will present the chief achievements the
government has made in its first 100 days from a general point of
view, as well as by key sectors such as economy, national security,
social issues, the media, and foreign affairs. The strategic
guidelines of future government work are another integral part of
the presentation.
Representatives of the media will attend the presentation at
government headquarters at noon on Monday. They will receive a CD-
Rom with the contents and images from the presentation, while
television representatives will also receive a video-cassette.
The project closes on Tuesday with a debate on Croatian Television
(HTV), in which representatives of the media and the wider public
will have the chance to talk to senior government officials.
Viewers will be able to put questions by telephone.
The project is the government's attempt to clearly acquaint the
media and the public with its new orientation in communication,
whose principal points of reference are transparent and open
relations. The use of technology in the presentation demonstrates
the government's orientation towards the future and information
technologies.
The government would like the project to become a watershed in its
communication with the public, while the HTV debate is intended to
show the government's openness to different, including critical
opinions, and willingness to answer every question.
